Q. What do you sell?
We sell "surplus" equipment, which means we get manufacturer closeouts, store returns, liquidation merchandise from auctions, etc. Almost all merchandise is new and first quality. Just like from the shop in your home town, though the packaging may be marked, or the box a bit shop worn. Don't let that worry you - the product is what counts. If by chance we have anything that's not brand new, we always clearly disclose that in the ad. For example, if it's floor stock with some minor skuffs or scatches from shop wear, we tell you up front.
We may also have some merchandise which are "factory seconds". This almost always means only some cosmetic blemish. Equipment manufacturers depend upon their reputation. Equipment that doesn't meet performance specs doesn't leave the factory.
Q. Why can you sell this great stuff at terrific prices?
When your local store, or any authorized dealer, buys direct from say, Dynastar, they have an agreement as to the lowest price they'll advertise. Because we don't purchase direct from the factory, we aren't restricted by the industry's "merchant agreements". And we don't have a physical store, so there's lower overhead. So you save.
Unfortunately, we don't have everything a full retail store would have. For example, we generally don't custom mount bindings. (It's not really not the right way to do it without the boot you're going to use and would invalidate any warranty the manufacturers might honor.) In some cases, we can arrange this for you at a local shop, but certain conditions would apply. We don't carry everything in all sizes and we almost never carry full product lines, but if we have what you want - we can sell it to you for less.
Q. Why do you have such a limited return policy?
Because of the way we do business, we also have a few policies that many stores don't. Accepting unlimited returns adds overhead costs and thus increases the price you pay. When you buy something at most places and keep it, you are actually paying for other people returns. So we limit the amount of time you have to let us know you are returning something just so that you can be sure it fits, or was the right color, or if you made a simple mistake. Please be sure that you only order the equipment you want. Generally, all sales are final. If you change your mind for any reason and we accept a return, the restocking fee is 20%. Please read our policies.
Of course, if there's something wrong and its clearly our fault - for example, you ordered a 177cm but you received a 184cm - or we sent only 1 ski - etc. you can exchange it or get a refund of you purchase price (and if we really screwed up, we'll even pay the return shipping). If it got damaged during shipping - we will work with you and the shipper to make it work out right - just contact us. We love to answer email.
